Controller Warranty

Warranty Conditions – HalloW Props Controllers

Last updated: 03/10/2026

These Warranty Conditions apply exclusively to the following prop controllers developed and sold by HalloW Props:

  • Freaky Four (F4)
  • Freaky Four Plus (F4+)
  • Freaky Eight Plus (F8+)

Different warranty rules may apply depending on whether the controller was purchased by a consumer (B2C) or a professional customer (B2B).

1. Consumer warranty (B2C)

Consumers benefit from the mandatory legal guarantee applicable to consumer goods under Belgian and applicable European consumer law.

For new goods, the legal guarantee generally applies for 2 years from delivery, subject to the conditions provided by applicable law.

This legal guarantee covers a lack of conformity for which HalloW Props is legally responsible. It does not mean that every defect, malfunction or damage occurring within two years is automatically covered.

Damage resulting from misuse, incorrect installation, external causes, incorrect voltage, faulty wiring, unauthorized modification or other causes attributable to the customer or a third party is not considered a lack of conformity for which HalloW Props is responsible.

Nothing in these Warranty Conditions limits or excludes the mandatory legal guarantee rights of consumers.

2. Professional customers (B2B)

Professional customers do not benefit from the statutory consumer guarantee.

Unless a quotation, invoice or separate written agreement states otherwise, HalloW Props provides professional customers with a 12-month contractual warranty on the F4, F4+ and F8+ prop controllers, starting from the date of delivery.

This contractual B2B warranty covers defects attributable to materials, assembly or manufacturing by HalloW Props under normal and intended use.

The contractual B2B warranty does not affect any rights or obligations that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

3. What is covered?

Subject to the distinction between B2C statutory rights and the contractual B2B warranty described above, warranty coverage may include defects relating to:

  • Electronic components
  • PCB assembly
  • Connectors and controls supplied as part of the controller
  • Internal manufacturing or assembly defects
  • Other faults attributable to HalloW Props

Normal wear and tear, consumable components and damage caused by external circumstances are not covered unless applicable mandatory law provides otherwise.

4. What is not covered?

To the extent permitted by applicable law, warranty coverage does not apply to defects or damage caused by:

  • Incorrect installation or connection
  • Incorrect or excessive supply voltage
  • Reverse polarity or faulty wiring
  • Short circuits caused by external wiring or connected equipment
  • Overloading outputs beyond their specified limits
  • Use outside the controller's intended specifications
  • Moisture, water ingress, condensation or corrosion
  • Fire, excessive heat or other external environmental influences
  • Impact, dropping or other mechanical damage
  • Damage to PCBs, connectors, terminals, switches or storage media caused after delivery
  • Unauthorized modifications or alterations
  • Repairs performed by unauthorized third parties
  • Use of unsuitable or incompatible power supplies, accessories or components
  • Damage caused by connected third-party equipment
  • Failure to follow supplied instructions or technical specifications
  • Normal wear and tear

5. Opening the controller and warranty seals

HalloW Props controllers may contain warranty seals or tamper-evident seals.

A damaged or removed seal may indicate that the controller has been opened or modified and may therefore be relevant when diagnosing the cause of a defect.

Important: removal or damage of a warranty seal does not by itself automatically remove mandatory consumer rights. However, damage caused by unauthorized opening, modification, repair or interference is not covered where HalloW Props is not legally responsible for that damage.

For professional customers, unauthorized opening, modification or repair may result in refusal of the contractual B2B warranty where the intervention caused, contributed to or prevents reliable diagnosis of the reported defect.

6. Starting a warranty or repair request

Before returning a controller, customers should contact HalloW Props at:

📧 info@hallowprops.eu

Please provide:

  • Name and contact details
  • Invoice or order number
  • Controller model (F4, F4+ or F8+)
  • A clear description of the problem
  • Photographs or video where useful for diagnosis

HalloW Props may first provide troubleshooting instructions or request additional technical information before asking for the controller to be returned.

7. Returning a controller

A controller should only be returned after contact with HalloW Props and confirmation of the return procedure.

The controller must be securely packed in a solid shipping box with sufficient protective material to prevent transport damage.

Where reasonably required for diagnosis, HalloW Props may request that the following items are returned:

  • The prop controller
  • The power supply used with the controller
  • The microSD card, where applicable
  • Other relevant accessories required to reproduce the reported problem

A copy of the invoice or order information should be provided where necessary to identify the purchase.

Missing accessories that are not necessary for diagnosis will not automatically invalidate a valid warranty claim.

8. Shipping costs for warranty claims

For consumers, shipping and return costs relating to a valid legal guarantee claim will be handled in accordance with mandatory consumer law.

Consumers should therefore contact HalloW Props before arranging a warranty return.

For professional customers, the customer is responsible for the cost and risk of shipping the controller to HalloW Props, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

If a B2B defect is confirmed to be covered by the contractual warranty, HalloW Props will bear the reasonable cost of returning the repaired or replacement controller to the professional customer, unless otherwise agreed.

9. Diagnosis and warranty repair

After receiving the controller, HalloW Props will inspect and diagnose the reported defect.

If the defect is covered by the applicable warranty or legal guarantee, the controller will be repaired or otherwise handled in accordance with the applicable legal or contractual warranty rights.

For consumers, the remedies provided by mandatory consumer law remain fully applicable.

For professional customers under the contractual B2B warranty, HalloW Props may repair the controller, replace the defective component, or replace the controller where this is reasonably appropriate.

10. Defects not covered by warranty

If inspection shows that the defect is not covered by the applicable warranty, HalloW Props will inform the customer before carrying out a paid repair.

Where appropriate, a repair quotation will be provided. Paid repairs will only be carried out after approval by the customer.

If the customer declines the repair, the controller can be returned at the customer's expense where legally permitted, or recycled by HalloW Props following the customer's explicit request.

11. Diagnosis and repair costs outside warranty

  • Diagnosis fee: €45.00
  • Replacement parts: normally €15.00 – €149.00, depending on the required component
  • Return shipping: calculated according to destination, parcel size and applicable shipping rate

If additional work or unusually expensive components are required, the customer will be informed before the repair is carried out.

12. Repair time

The target repair time is normally approximately 5 to 7 working days after receipt and diagnosis of the controller.

This is an estimated repair time and may be longer where replacement components are temporarily unavailable, additional diagnosis is required or circumstances outside the reasonable control of HalloW Props cause a delay.

Where a significant delay is expected, the customer will be informed.

13. Warranty on paid repairs

Components replaced as part of a paid repair outside the original warranty are covered by a 3-month contractual repair warranty for the specific repair and replaced components.

This repair warranty does not restart or extend the original warranty for the complete controller.

For consumers, this provision does not reduce any mandatory legal rights that may otherwise apply.

14. Optional warranty extension

Where offered at the time of purchase, customers may purchase an additional 1-year commercial warranty extension for €25.00.

The warranty extension must be purchased together with the controller unless HalloW Props expressly offers otherwise.

For consumers, the additional commercial warranty starts after the standard 2-year statutory guarantee period and does not replace, restrict or otherwise affect the consumer's statutory guarantee rights.

For professional customers, the exact duration and starting date of an optional warranty extension will be stated on the quotation, order confirmation or invoice.

15. Software, configuration and stored data

Diagnosis, repair, replacement or software servicing may require the controller to be reset, reconfigured or updated.

Customers should retain a backup of any configuration, audio files, programming or other customer-created data where the controller or associated storage media supports such data.

HalloW Props cannot guarantee preservation of customer-created data during diagnosis or repair where deletion or reconfiguration is technically necessary.

16. Replacement controllers and components

Where a controller or component is replaced under warranty, HalloW Props may use a new or technically equivalent replacement product or component, provided this does not reduce any mandatory consumer rights.

Components or controllers replaced under warranty become the property of HalloW Props where permitted by applicable law and where a replacement has been supplied.

17. Relationship with other HalloW Props conditions

These Warranty Conditions should be read together with the HalloW Props General Terms and Conditions and, for consumers, the Refund & Returns Policy.

The right of withdrawal is separate from warranty and legal guarantee rights.

18. Changes to these Warranty Conditions

HalloW Props may update these Warranty Conditions for future purchases.

The warranty conditions applicable when the controller was purchased remain applicable to that purchase, unless a later change is required by law or is otherwise validly agreed.
